PSP Meeting #6 - Our Summer Meeting - Aug 7 at NCAIA Headquarters

Post date: Aug 7, 2012 3:29:30 PM

The Person Street Partnership is featuring a talk by NCDOT Deputy Secretary Paul Morris, FASLA, on "Complete Streets in North Carolina" at its summer meeting Tuesday August 7 5:00-6:15 at the new NCAIA Headquaters on Peace Street across from William Peace University. Our meetings are casual, informative, and easy to attend after work. Deputy Secretary Morris' talk will begin at 5:15 and we are encouraging our Mordecai and Oakwood neighbors to attend.

"Complete Streets" is a nationwide initiative where traffic engineers and planners across the country are designing streets with everyone in mind - - motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians. We are priveleged to have Deputy Secretary Morrris speaking to our group as he is a dynamic speaker who is knowledgeable about the "Complete Streets" iniative in North Carolina.

With the upcoming Person/Blount Street and Wake Forest Road Corridor Study kicking off this October, this will be a great opportunity for neighbors on both sides of this important corridor in our Mordecai neighborhood to begin envisioning how these streets might look and what opportunities are available for all. While the PSP is focused on the Person Street business district, the corridor study will emcompass Wake Forest Road and its connection to the Person Street area.

If you have any questions, let me know.
