Recent Leaf Fires in Mordecai Community

posted Dec 10, 2012, 7:04 AM by Reid Serozi
Dear Mordecai Community,

Many residents have been piling their leaves at the curve and over the past week there have been close to a dozen such leaf piles set on fire. This is an extremely dangerous prank and is likely considered arson. This activity is dangerous to the homes within our community and should be taken very seriously. Most of the fires seem to be taking place between the hours of Midnight and 2 AM each day.

Those residents in the East Mordecai area will be getting their leaves picked up by the city in the coming week but until then we need to watch out for each other and ensure that the setting of the fires does not damage our homes and property.

Over the next few weeks lets try the following.
  • If you are a late night person, step outside and look up and down the street for any unusual activity
  • Call 911 if you see any suspicious activity
  • Raleigh PD is aware of the situation and will likely respond immediately if you notice anything cannot emphasize enough how dangerous this type of activity is. It is important that the people doing this should be stopped.
Sincerely,

Shane Trahan
