The Mordecai CAC is looking for residents to attend the upcoming workshops. If you are able to attend, please let us know!
The City of Raleigh will hold two planning workshops on the development of a draft master plan for Moore Square on Thursday, Sept. 9 at Cobblestone Hall in Historic City Market, 215 Wolfe St. The afternoon workshop is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the evening workshop will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Participants need attend only one of the workshops as they have the same format.
Both workshops will include a project introduction, interactive site model discussion, break-out group workshops, and a wrap-up session with discussion on next steps.
To register to attend a workshop, email parkplan@raleighnc.gov. Registration is not required but does help with planning. To request special accommodations for people with disabilities, contact the City of Raleigh Public Affairs Department at 996-3000 at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. On-street, surface and deck parking will be available around Moore Square and City Market in Downtown Raleigh during both workshops. For more information on parking, visit www.godowntownraleigh.com/get-around/parking.
For more information about the workshops, call 996-4797 or visit the City of Raleigh’s website at www.raleighnc.gov. Type in “Moore Square Master Plan” in the “What Are You Looking For?” area at the top left side of the website.
The City has awarded an $184,000 master plan services contract for Moore Square to Chris Counts of Chris Counts Studio in Charlottesville, Va., the winner of the Moore Square Design Competition. The City Council approved the formation of the Public Leadership Group to work with Mr. Counts and ensure public input in the master plan process for Moore Square. A second set of public workshops will be held in November.
