Mayor Meeker has officially proclaimed April “Raleigh History Month” and asked residents to join their neighbors in participating and learning from this observance. The City of Raleigh’s Parks and Recreation Department is doing its part by inviting people to tour Mordecai Historic Park and ride the Raleigh Trolley. The two attractions are the perfect way to celebrate History Month and learn what life was like for Raleigh’s citizens of yesterday.
Mordecai Historic Park tours in April will be held Tuesday through Friday at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Saturdays, tours will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the hour. Sunday tours will be at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $3 for youth and seniors, and free for children six and under.
Historic Raleigh Trolley tours in April will depart from Mordecai at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The trolley tour will be an hour long trip through downtown Raleigh. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for youth, and free for children six and under.
